Item #113
Common Core Content Activity: Figurative Language
Figurative Language: In these activities, we learn about understanding Figurative Language. The students are introduced to literal and figurative meanings of words and phrases, formal and informal tones, metaphors and idioms, and using context clues. Students read diary/journal entries written by a high school student named Dyllan. Dyllan assists students throughout the activity to determine what the written text means. Throughout the unit, the students practice all activities on real-life examples.
Each activity is completed on two different levels for differentiated instruction.
